Kimberley “Kimmi” Grima is a proud Wiradjuri woman, advocate, and community leader dedicated to improving outcomes for people living with chronic pain and disability. Based in Kiama, NSW, she works with Chronic Pain Australia (CPA), which nominated her for the HCNSW Board in 2024.
With CPA, she is a Peer Mentor Manager and contributes to media and education initiatives, drawing on both professional expertise and lived experience as a person with chronic pain and a mother of three children with disabilities. She also acts as a Pain Group Facilitator and a passionate Consumer Advocate. Kimmi supports individuals living with chronic pain, including those experiencing domestic and family violence, and collaborates with specialists to deliver accessible pain education.
She actively contributes to multiple Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) committees, including the Executive Steering Committee for Children, Young People and Families, the Comprehensive Care Steering Committee, and the Consumer and Community Advisory Council.
With a background in medical reception, retail management, and podiatry, Kimmi has long been committed to peer support, having founded a support group for VACTERL patients and carers over 20 years ago. She is especially passionate about amplifying the voices of young people, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and those living in regional areas.
